Updated - Records, riders tumble at Motu Challenge

A fast-flowing Waioeka river, and mainly favorable breezes saw Elina and Richard Ussher (NZL) nudge down the race record at Opotiki's Motu Challenge on Saturday in New Zealand. At the same time, a number of athletes crashed on the mountain bike stage, firstly thanks to a large slip blocking half the road; and secondly to loose gravel on the final descent into Motu township, deep in the Eastern Bay of Plenty hinterland.

World Champion wins inaugural Mainpeak Multisport
